What is spiritual direction?
An ancient, gentle practice of paying attention to God — together.
A quiet space to notice God in your life.
Spiritual Direction may be for you if you are facing a difficult season, desire to grow closer to God, or simply have questions. It is for the faithful, the skeptic, the one who feels far away and the one who wants to come closer. Faith transitions, loss, doubts, midlife, wandering, fears — all are welcome here.
Spiritual direction is a regular, unhurried conversation about your life with God. You bring whatever is real — a season you're walking through, a longing, a doubt, a prayer, a question — and together we listen for where the Spirit is already moving.
I'm not here to fix you or to hand you answers. A spiritual director's role is closer to a companion on a walk: paying attention alongside you, asking a gentle question now and then, and helping you notice what you might have missed on your own. The real director, always, is God.
How our time together works.
We meet face to face over video — comfortable, private, and open to you wherever you live.
Each session is a full, unhurried hour set aside entirely for you.
Most people meet about once a month. We can meet more often if you'd like.
You choose where you fall within the range, so that cost need not keep anyone away.
We begin with a conversation.
There's no need to decide anything in advance. We start with a half-hour together — a chance to meet, to ask anything you'd like, and to sense whether this is a good fit. If it is, wonderful. If not, you'll leave with my blessing.
You might be wondering…
Do I need to belong to a particular church?
No. I work from a broadly Christian tradition and welcome people from any background — and people from none. Whether you're devout, drifting, or simply curious, you're welcome here.
What actually happens in a session?
Mostly, we talk and we listen. You share whatever feels alive for you; I listen closely and ask the occasional question. We often pause to pray or sit quietly. There's no script and no homework — just attention to where God is at work in your life.
How is this different from counseling?
Counseling tends to focus on healing a problem or symptom; spiritual direction focuses on your relationship with God. The two can complement each other beautifully, but direction is not therapy and is not a substitute for it.
What if I'm not sure I believe — or believe enough?
Then you are in very good company. Doubt and questions are welcome guests here, not problems to be solved. You do not need to arrive with answers, or certainty, or the right words.
How do I start?
Send a note through the contact page or email me directly. We'll find a time for your free discovery conversation, and go from there — at whatever pace feels right to you.
